Hey Jherico,

I’m starting to think that my crush is probably a player. When he’s talking to me or texting me, he makes me feel like I’m the only person in the world. I can’t stop thinking about him.

Whenever I ask him to hang out or ask him if he likes anyone, he says he’s not sure and changes the subject. Then, he asked my friend to homecoming a few weeks ago. I asked him if he likes my friend, and he said he doesn’t like anyone. But, I swear he’s flirting with me constantly! How do I know if he likes me or not?

Eek! I wish I had good news for you, but sadly, I don’t. This guy is definitely a player, and he is almost definitely bad news. At best, he’s going to string you along for months before breaking your heart. At worst, he could even tear you apart from your friends. He’s never going to be the crush you deserve.

It’s sad but true: Time to move on. Delete his number, unfollow his Instagram, and cut him out of your life. If he asks what he did wrong, just say you’re busy and focusing on other interests right now (and do just that). Who knows? You might even meet your newest (better) crush when you least expect it. Player begone!
