It’s an open letter to people who take advantage .. mostly boys.
I would like people to listen to me. And not just try to figure out who I’m talking about, because it’s not about that. It’s really not at all about one person. I don’t know one boy or men who hasn’t had a weird experience, or a really bad experience. And men, too – young girls are taken advantage of constantly.
I used to not understand why age mattered. And, of course, you feel like that when you’re young, because you’re the oldest you’ve ever been. You feel like you’re so mature and you know everything…People forget that you can grow up and realize shit was fucked up when you were younger.
this is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. i feel very vulnerable putting this one out because i hold it so close to my heart. this is about many different situations that we’ve all either witnessed or experienced. i hope this can inspire change. try not to abuse your power.
I was scared for it to come out because it’s my favorite song I’ve ever written. I felt the world didn’t deserve it.
